A mysterious doll finds its way to the Greenwich Village apartment of Sam, and recently blinded susy Hendrix. To stir things up, the murder of a woman occurs in the neighborhood shortly after, involving a con-man named Roat, and two ex-convicts. They persuade Susy to find the doll for them. . With the help of a little neighbor, Susy figures out that it’s all a charade, and in order for the three men to play fair, she must wait until dark.
